Frodo Problems

Today was an early rise day. I got to wake up BEFORE the crack of dawn for some exercise. I worked my body for almost two hours! Needless to say, my body was in need of refreshment...aka STARBUCKS.

So here I am, on my way to school, making a pit stop at a local Starbucks when all of a sudden a woman walks into the shop, asking for advice on a topic WELL known to this young lady:

CURLY HAIR

This charming mother was asking for advice on how to take care of her daughter's curly hair.

For all of those who do NOT have curly hair, let me tell you, it is one of the hardest things to EVER deal with on a daily basis.

ANYWAYS, she was sooo eager to learn tricks! It was sooo sweet!

So all of you ringlet heads, listen up! Here are some of my favorite beauty tricks for los rizos (curls),

  • DO NOT BLOW DRY OR STRAIGHTEN. I swear this is the biggest mistake you can make. You dry out the hair even faster and sucks the life out of your locks!
  • ALWAYS USE DEEP CONDITIONER. Seriously! At lease once a week, you should be putting in a leave-in conditioner. My favorite: Aussie Three Minute Miracle! The steam of the shower helps it set in longer and it's super quick!
  • DO NOT USE PRODUCTS WITH SULFATES. Check the ingredients to see if any sulfates are in the product. If there are, SKIP IT. Sulfates suck out nutrients! Your ringlets need as many vitamins and nutrients as they can get.
Hope this gives all of my fellow twisted sisters some hope! And I hope things work out for this woman and her daughter too.

Nothing feels better than solving the world's problems: one ringlet at a time. ;)

Butter up!

There are very few things in life that are good covered in butter.
1. Cornbread- not just the stuff you get from the box, I mean ''OLD FASHIONED like your Nana makes it"recipe
2. French bread- it just makes you feel fancy
3. Fresh Green beans- again, FRESH. Not the nasty stuff that comes frozen from the grocer. EW.
4. Shrimp- if it's covered in a lemon butter sauce.
5. Popcorn- after all, I AM a movie enthusiast. What's a good show without some munchies? ;)

So being the little chef I am, I attempt #4. I thought this is simple enough. I can definitely do this! My mother will be so impressed.

No, she will not be impressed.

Why?

Because it was the worst recipe ever. I have the WORST luck with making dinner, but am completely okay when I make desserts.
I figured that I needed to sharpen the skills so I can be a fashionable young adult, hosting dinner parties, living in the city, cute clothes galore, with a fancy boyfriend to accompany me to aforementioned parties.

No
No
No
NONE of that will happen any time soon.

This recipe was SOOOO greasy. I could feel my arteries clogging when I took the first bite. *gags* And I didn't have the big shrimp the recipe called for so I just used about 50 mini ones, like the salad sized ones that you can get in an economy sized bag from Costco.

Never.
Ever.
Ever.
Again.

Worst idea ever. I'm just going to watch my mother cook and hope I inhale some wisdom while I sniff the aromas. Until then, I'm going to stuff myself with desserts.

Movie Magic

Just recently I went to the theatre here to see a movie called "Life of Pi." All that I can say is just WOW. It is purely amazing! It is absolutely stunning.

There was this one scene where Pi (the boy) and the tiger (Richard Parker) were in the middle of the ocean at night and there were jellyfish everywhere! The water was glowing.

SERIOUSLY GLOWING.

And then on top of that this whale comes out of nowhere! It almost looked as if the whale jumped out of that liquid that is found in glow sticks. I was mesmerized. Especially since I have a fascination with bright objects....

Another movie I am dying to see is called "Silver Linings Playbook." It has three of my favorite Hollywood performers in it, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert DeNiro. I think the whole concept of that movie is ingenious. The plot just seems so real life and perverse at the same time.

I suppose I'll have to persuade my family to let the movie mogul take over next time we go! :)

I'd rather not eat leather

Today is Thanksgiving! I am so excited to eat all of the good food my family makes. My favorite dish is my aunt's sweet potatoes! She outs pineapple chunks, shredded almonds, cherries and marshmallows in them. uh YUM.......

Speaking of food, I had a horrible experience the other night with food.

One of my favorite dishes is margherita pizza. It's sooo delicious! I was eating at this restaurant around the corner from my house. Now normally, this place is pretty good with it's plates but this one was absolutely AWFUL. Oh my GOODNESS, it was so sour! I mean it's supposed to have a TANG, but not be freaking sour! They had placed tomato slices on the top instead of dicing them and putting them into the sauce, and it was just...not what I expected to say the least.

Well, I shall just continue to order other plates whilst I secretly gag in my mind at the thought of that pizza.

*shudders*

Red Rose Revelation

Last week I had the privilege of going to a themed wedding! It was quite honestly the best theme I will probably encounter in my whole LIFE. What was the theme, you might ask? PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

This reception was magnificent! There were roses everywhere, a red carpet, masks, and the best part: IT WAS ON A STAGE. That's right, a theatre stage!
I was in shock the whole time I was working this wedding. Being a die-hard thespian, this was a sign that I needed to get back into the swing of things!
I've had to take a break from acting because of some health problems and the ones of, ya know....COLLEGE.
Needless to say, I miss being onstage quite dearly. Seeing all of my friends in shows and acting their hearts out, broadcasting their talent, makes my quivering actress heart break.
Who knows?! Maybe one day I can make it as a hot shot producer or something!
I hope I can get back to being in show business soon! But for now, I'll listen to film scores while I finish my homework :)
